Subject: Pass These Bills to Serve Hardworking Pennsylvanians

Message:

While the term "affordability" is frequently used in political discourse and campaigns, Pennsylvania's hardworking families are still waiting for tangible solutions to help them manage their mounting expenses. From soaring housing costs and prescription drugs to the rising price of groceries, electricity, and gasoline, many taxpayers across the Commonwealth are finding it increasingly difficult to cover their most basic household needs. As elected lawmakers of Pennsylvania, you hold the power to pass meaningful policy that provides relief. In fact, doing so is the fundamental responsibility of your office. Rather than engaging in political maneuvering, I call on you to put the economic stability of the people you represent first. There are several bills currently in Harrisburg that could help lower the inflated cost of living in the Commonwealth. If voted into law, these policies would directly lead to money savings by lowering some of these costs. It is imperative that these bills receive prompt, across-the-aisle attention to provide much-needed financial relief for laboring families. I urge you to consider pushing these bills to a floor vote and voting yes in order to serve the hardworking taxpayers of Pennsylvania effectively in a narrowly divided legislature. - HB 504 encourages more homegrown energy sources, giving renters, home and local business owners more affordable choices for their electricity. - HB 1834 stops huge electricity rate increases by requiring data centers to be partially powered by clean energy, preventing brownouts and blackouts. - HB 2380 encourages electric distribution companies or electric utilities to procure modern grid-scale battery energy storage systems by 2033 to reduce utility bills. - HB 2223 lowers electric bills by encouraging the adoption of advanced electricity transmission technologies and the use of microgrids for improved energy efficiency. - HB 1599 orders our regional grid operator, PJM, to be more transparent about their electricity price-setting process, connect more renewable energy projects and disallow data centers to connect directly to the grid. - SB 1359 protects Pennsylvania communities by issuing a three year statewide moratorium on hyperscale data center development. Thank you for making a positive difference.
